Question:

Head-unit?

I am looking for a good head unit for my car but I do not want to go and get something that will break my pocketbook. I basically want the best bang for my buck. I need something that hooks up to my Ipod/mp3 player and I like the look of motorized head units. I really don't need all the video and GPS kind of stuff either. I just want a quality head unit for my car. Opinions are appreciated. Thanks for your help.

  1. I dunno if this breaks your pocketbook, but check out this Alpine headunit from Crutchfield.com:

    Hope this works for ya

  2. regarding that Alpine recommended in the previous post, keep in mind that in order to be able to control an ipod through it, you'd need to purchase the separate ipod adapter to it.  It would give you full ipod control right through the HU though.  Also, it does not have a motorized face.

You could get something like this for a comparable price: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/I...

It also does not have a motorized face, but it has a front auxiliary input so that you can connect an ipod(or any other mp3 player) with a cable from the headphone jack into the head unit.  You would have to control the ipod manually though, as it would just be passing the audio signal to the head unit.
