Head unit wiring to the battery?

Does it make a difference in performance of the HU if you connect yellow (B+, back up) directly to the battery with 10 or 12 gauge wire instead of using the stock harness?

probably not... thats what i am guessing though the bigger the wire the better it sometimes is

i don't think you should connect it to the battery the reason for the harness is because there the door speaker wires, ignition, lighting, and power wires your head unit will not function properly if they are not connected!

It will Do No Harm, but there is absolutely 0 benefit.  

If everything is working stay as is
