Question:

Headache Won't Go Away?

Hi. I'm a 27 y/o female. I have had a persistent headache for 3 days now. It started one afternoon after reading outside. It is a sharp and aching pain on the left-top of my head. I find it hurts when I press my left eye, but my eye feels no pain if I'm not pressing it.

I have no other symptoms. I sleep fine. Appetite is normal. I've had no head trauma. I've never had a problem with my sinuses. I haven't started any new meds or changed my diet. I'm not PMSing. I only drink 1 cup of tea/day. I've never had a migraine but I don't think this is one because I don't have sensitivity to light or nausea.

The worst part is NOTHING has worked to relieve it. I've tried Aspirin, Tylenol, Advil, Excedrin, coffee, massage, acupressure, food, sugar, and sleep.

I spent all day yesterday drinking water thinking it could be dehydration, but this also did not work. I mentioned drinking tea just so you'd know I don't overdue the caffeine thing.

I made an appointment with a doctor for later this afternoon. I can't say I'm not worried at this point. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Does anyone know what could be causing this and/or how to relieve it? Thanks in advance and let me know if you need more info.

  1. one word migraine, you have it my dear,if you cut back on your tea intake this will do it too or maybe your sugar level is down try eating some chocolate this helps...last resort take some rum and put it on your head by saping it on this works for me too.when I am on a diet my sugar level drops and this happens to me too so try the chocolate and the rum on your head.....please do not drink the rum lol, hope you feel better.

  2. dont use any medicine go to doctor and check your head with computer if it isnt okay relax goto peace place without sound or shouting dont watch tv dont use computer more time only relax and chek your head if its good or not, good luck.

  3. TYLONOLL

  4. You should see a doctor.

  5. The doctor is your best bet.

Was there a change in the weather about the time your headache started? You might have a very nasty sinus headache.

There are a couple of other possibilities too, but you would need a check-up to actually confirm them.

I do have one suggestion: Try drinking a Gatorade, in case you might be missing electrolytes rather than water.

    Good luck!

  6. Iron deficency test: Go to the mirror and pull your lower eyelid and see if the color is red or flesh color. If its flesh colored you are lacking enough iron and should take a herbal iron like Floradix. It will take a month to see a difference. Iron carrys oxygen in your blood and if you dont have it you will feel tired, cold hands and feet, headaches, RLS, dull brittle hair, brittle nails, poor sleep, pale skin (see thru), shortness of breath, fatigue, poor concentration, low mood, ringing in the ears, irregular heart beats, cracks in the corner of the mouth, dizziness, fainting, sore tongue and canker sores. Add b12 and folic acid for best results

You need to specifcally look up potassium, magnesium and calcium deficiency to see symptoms that will lead you to the mineral you are lacking.
