  1. i had this problem

you really have to keep up swimming, i stopped for like a year and then when i went back to swimming regularly i could only swim about as far as you said and i got a headache

you could faint you are obviously not as strong or fit as when

you could swim 1km anymore but you should just keep on going as often as you can,  you should also use the gym if you don't already. don't push yourself too hard if you get a headache you could easily faint

your problem could be with your technique, compared to how you used to swim just make sure you are using the correct technique for the stroke you are doing

also try to eat some kind of energy bar or drink like gatorade or another sports drink. these contain monosacharide sugars which are easily broken down by your body (it could take your body a while to get used to using such easily broken down sugars so this may not work first time)

eat alot of carbohydrate in the morning before you go swimming aswell, somthing like toast because your body will be using carbohydrate as a source of energy more than anything else. if you do not have alot of carbohydrate you will start to burn fat quicker (fat is harder for your body to burn and get energy from)
