What could this mean? Terrible headache and lots of pain in the right eyelid. Could it be allergies, sinus, or a migraine? What to do about it?

  1. You may want to contact an ophthalmologist quickly. There is a type of glaucoma that is sudden onset that comes and goes. During this time pressure builds up rapidly in the eye and causes pain. I am not sure if you are feeling it in eyelid or if the actual eye is hurting. This is also usually accompanied by very acute headache. This type of glaucoma is very dangerous and can quickly lead to blindness. If the doctor tells you to go to emergency room so they can measure your eye pressure and bring it down if necessary, I highly recommend that you do so. It probably is nothing as serious as this, but better safe than sorry. In sudden onset glaucoma attacks, there are risks of losing your eyesight.
