Question:

Headaches that start on the bottom right side of my head?

I always get (and have right now) bad headaches/migraines that seem to be at the bottom right side of my head and spread to the back of my eyes.

Right now, it's accompanied by nausea and dizziness. Also, I was having a hard time talking this morning, as I was mixing up words or saying strange things like "'scoll" instead of "school".

I've been having headaches for a very long time, and it's starting to worry me that it's the same spot every time. Can someone help me?

I'm only 17, by the way.

  1. Definitely need to see your doctor!

  2. Sounds like migraines because of the dizziness and nausea. I have pain in one spot, at the back of head and up the left side. My problem is nerve damage. I also have migraines that go into my eyes, and can last for days. I think it is time for you to see a pain management doctor , since your pain has lasted so long. Your family doctor can give a referral for you to a pain specialist.

    Hope I helped a bit.

  3. Relax, my migraines are always in the same area and i have all the symptoms you have as well. i too got worried and went to see my dr. about it. he said that it is common to have the pain in the same area. is there any chance you could have a pinched nerve in your neck? mixing up words is just most likely because pain interferes with a persons cognitive abilities, that is your ability to think and process clearly. i too get my words mixed up when i'm having head pain. it's just difficult to concentrate. has your dr. prescribed anything for your migraines? i use Maxalt and it helps a lot better than any over the counter medication. i'm sure you're fine. although, at times you may not feel like you are. i know you can feel so cruddy that it's hard to believe that something more serious isn't wrong with you. if you still feel uncertain you ought to tell your dr. and ask him/her to refer you to a specialist like a neurologist.

  4. My migraines started at 13. They always start at the top of my neck and radiate up to my temples and eyes. Imitrex nasal spray can help. An ice pack to numb your neck. Sometimes an ice pack over your eyes. Sometimes pain meds like tylenol w codiene or fioricet. Some caffiene can help. A chiropractor has helped, too. See a dr but know it may just come to managing your pain. I am 36 and it hasn't changed yet. Sorry but I know your pain! Good luck!
