Heading the childrens miracle net work need help!?

i have recently been thrown into head cordinator of cmc! Great i helped out last year and we raised 7 thousand from our golden corral store, this year ive become the head of it,all month of may long were hosting car washes and bake sales yard sales. i need some ideas quick, on who i can ask for donations, along with our store, i have booked harley davidson and they are sponcering our poker run on the 3rd, as wel as the local fire department and sherrifs office, i have called some local businesses, and most of them hang up even with a great offer of tax write off! all in all its for the children in the hospital! and i want to do a great job ... can you give suggestions

There are several things I can think of. One, which is very popular here is old book sales. You can usually get people to donate their old books for a good cause. Another is music concerts. We have a lot of skilled musicians here and this makes a very good profit.  Set up a collective yard sale with as many vendors as possible. Charge a set up and admissions fee. Scrap vehicles. Get anyone to donate scrap vehicles. Metal prices right now are thru the roof. BBq's. Solicit food from local grocers and sell tickets. You cannot solicit goods or services on the phone. It must be done in person and with the highest authority at the business you're soliciting from. Hope this helps.
