  1. Just tell your Mom your head itches and ask her to check you for lice. The Nix treatment is by far the best and you do need to by 2 boxes so you can repeat after 2 weeks.

  2. You will need some sort of help to get rid of them , The lice are easy enough to kill with the solution from the chemist ( olive oil works as welll as it smothers them and they can't breathe) You will need to get help to remove the eggs though as you can't see in your own head. They are very tricky to spot and they attach themselves with glue to your hairshaft ,the only way to remove them is one by one and with your finger tips >MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL THE NIT EGGS as if you miss just one they will come back as it will hatch and the process will start all over again. Repeat the process in 3-5 days to make sure you got them all

good luck ps wash all your bedding and brushes they can live off the scalp for 72hrs

  3. Get some tea tree oil from the chemists and apply it neat.

It's much kinder to your hair than the chemical shampoos you get and headlice really don't like it.

Then you just need to keep combing through your hair for a few weeks.

You don't need to wash bedding etc, etc, headlice cannot survive off the head-the ones that fall out are mostly dead anyway.

  4. buy a treatment shampoo from your drugstore. wash/shampoo your hair everyday = )

  5. ask your pharmacist they will give you the best help

  6. You can go to a pharmacy ask the pharmist   about the new shampoo +conditioner just brought  for headlice, it kills the eggs, and all of it in a shampooing, and the conditioner puts the vitamins back in your hair that the shampoo takes out, but however the shampoo and conditioner has a great smell to it; like strawberry, raseberry, etc.

  7. Go to the pharmacy and ask them for Resultz or a similar treatment for your hair.  Most likely you will need some help because the nits are so small and it's difficult to get them all on your own.  I would do one treatment now and another in 10 days time so if you miss any you can be sure they are caught in the next treatment.  Also it is very important to wash your bedding/hats ect after first and last treatments.

  8. Yeah you can get stuff from Chemist or try tee tree oil, combed through with a louse comb. Works a treat. Tell mum so she apply it for you and wash your pillow cases etc. She won't mind.

  9. well i have'nt had nits scince i was like 5 or something, but i would tell you're parents anyway, they could of caught them and need treatment to! And i would use chemists soloution, seemed to work back then lol!

  10. Don't feel stupid or embarrassed!

It can happen to anyone. Yeah, its gross, but you'll get through it.

The chemical shampoos are pesticide. They also don't work any better than natural remedies. If you use the chemical shampoo, don't bathe in it, and don't get it in your ears or eyes. Tea tee oil is very strong, it needs to be diluted in oil.

You will need to tell your parents as you said, and anyone else you are close to. The main thing is getting off all the nits, you will need someone to help you reach the back of your head. The nits look like tiny little whitish raindrops, and they stick to the root of the hair. There are pictures on the internet, search for 'head lice nits' and you'll see the nasty little things close up. You or your kind helper will need to go through your hair strand by strand, pinch the nit between two fingernails and pull it down the hair. This is the only way to get rid of them. The best way to be sure you've been through each strand is to tie your hair in sections, maybe eight elastics, then do one section and tie it up again. Do this again the next day, and the next, and keep checking for nits for a few weeks. If you find a nit that's more than an inch from the scalp, it is not alive, so don't worry but do take it off anyway, obviously.

You should wash your bedding, clothing, hats, combs, and towels in hot water, and dry them in the dryer on hot. A hairbrush or other non-washable items can be put in the freezer overnight in a plastic bag. We are lucky(?), when my son got lice at daycare it was the middle of winter, so we put the pillows and teddy bears and everything outside to freeze overnight.

Finally, a few drops af tea tree oil run through your hair in the morning should keep them away in future.

    Good luck, hang in there!
