Does Bush think we all have only short-term memories? is he hoping that most of the country will forget that he and the Republicans owned the White House and both Houses of Congress from 2000-2006 and did nothing about the cost of gas. Or about anything.

  1. True!

  2. Of course, libs claim it's just a coincidence oil climbed as soon as they gained control of congress.

  3. They tried to get a energy plan passed but the dems would not try to find middle ground. The dems going on recess instead of working on passing an energy plan also is to blame. You can say the entire government is to blame.

  4. your wrong,Repubs have been trying for years to open anwa for drilling

  5. The whole d**n country is to blame.  We spend all our time blaming the other party and trying to ignore what our own party has failed to do. We should clean house and start over but that wont happen because every one seems to think that party control is more important. So nothing will change we will still be paying too much for gas and blaming each other.

  6. He's takes us for fools.

Like we forget his and Cheney's ties to the oil industry and the tax breaks he gives the oil industry.

Luckily some of us pay attention and retain this information so we know who to vote for in the next election.

    OBAMA / BIDEN '08

  7. If I remember right, Gas was about a buck a gallon when he took office, rose over six years to 2 bucks a gallon, then the democrats took over and gas has shot up to 4 bucks a gallon in 2 years.  Am I wrong?

  8. He vomits out whatever his controllers tell him to vomit, and they don't care that he looks like a sociopathic liar and nobody believes him.

  9. Limbaugh, Savage, Hannity, etc., the mouthpieces of the right, will hammer this idea home in the minds of their listeners.  And next week we'll be seeing questions here like: "Why did the Democrats make gas prices double?" and "Why does Obama want us to pay so much more for gasoline?"

Republicans reflexively blame everything bad on Democrats. In some cases it really is the Democrats' fault, but it doesn't matter to Republicans, anything bad that happens is automatically because of -liberalism-, whether it's bad weather or serial murder or, especially, bad economic times.

Republicans still blame Jimmy Carter for the economy of his time in office, double-digit inflation and double-digit interest rates, which were caused by (1) a huge debt from a long unproductive war and (2) a sudden doubling of the price of gas--neither of which happened during Carter's term.  And this year I really think they were hoping to keep the economy burning along until Obama came in, then let it collapse like a house of cards and blame Obama.

Of course neo-con dittoheads see it as just that simple--Republican good, Democrat bad.  Its so much simpler when things are in black and white, isn't it? 8^)

  10. The cost of oil didn't go up dramatically until recently idiot, and when it seemed to be getting out of control, he did his part and lifted the ban on off shore drilling.  It was up to congress...and nanci pelosi to do their part. Instead, the Dems felt that it was a good time for a 5 week vacation.  Thanks you antiamerican dirtbags.  You think Bush has a low approval rating...his is twice as high as congress.

  11. Oh please.

  12. And that mysteriously the price has now gone done to pre-2006 prices.
