Headphones for tv. I need to use headphones on my tv (hearing problem) but also to have the volume

I need to use headphones on my tv (hearing problem) but also to have the volume sounding in the room (for wifey!!). I believe the make of headphones is irrelevant the tv is the problem, can anyone tell me if my tv is compatible, thanks, Roy
