Heads up poker game with two Laptops?

Question

I was wondering if there is a way to play heads up poker between 2 laptops without the use of an internet connection. I will be taking a vacation that involves a lot of driving and want to connect the two laptops together with a serial cable or ethernet cable so we can play heads up poker. Is there a program out there that would make this possible?
