Question:

Healing time for injury???

Today, I was at my old elementary school and they have a playground for the preschoolers. When nobody is out there, we (me, my bro, and my 3 friends) ask the principal if we can go out there. Today she said we could. They have what looks like a balance beam, but curved. Well, I was pretending to be Shawn Johnson, and I did a cartwheel on it. HOWEVER, I fell, and my leg smashed into this metal beam. Well, it hurt pretty bad, but I started to panic when I felt a huge dent right below my right knee. I thought that I broke a bone or something, but my mom came out and said it was a dented muscle.

My question is, how long will it take to heal? There was no blood, and I put ice on it right away and kept it there for a long time. The swelling isn't bad, but a bruise is already there. I'm only worried because I figure skate once or twice a week, and I might not be able to do some of the things. It's still a little sore, too. HELP?

  1. Is your mom a nurse????  how would she know it's a "dented  muscle"???  I would get it checked out in case, esp. since you ice skate and stuff, just to be on the safe side, so you don't re-injure it....    A huge dent doesn't sound good, sorry....  Hope you feel better though
