Question:

Health Hazards!?

My next door neighbor still has her pool up from last summer. We live in an area that is mostly sand. She left her ladder to her pool up and my daughter who is two tried to climb up into the pool. i asked her to take down her pool because of the mosquitos. she refused. so now we have a mostquito pond which has decaying animals at the bottom. the stench is horrible i have called the county about it but they only sent her a letter. if my daughter or her kids even fall in that pool they would probably be sucked to the bottom. what do i do? we have asked her many times to take it down. my dad asked her because the warm weather has hatched the mosqitos. when she does empty it it will flow right into my yard. I have been really nice and i am really close to just poking little holes in her pool. Any other suggestions?

  1. um.. you might want to try telling the police i mean if it is as bad as you say they should be able to help

  2. You should call the local health department. If it is a known mosquito breading area they should send out someone to test the water and if it tests positive, which it should, they will use an insecticide to take care of them. At least that will get a representative from the health department in person on the property.

  3. I hate to say it, but your best choice is to annoy the police about it vehemently enough that they take some action.

If you poke holes in her pool, she could report you... But if nothing works soon, I'd probably do it anyway.

  4. make an official complaint to the police/cops/whatever you have. Tell her that you are concerned for your childrens safety. Tell her you will tell social services. Tell her if she doesn't you will poke holes in her pool. Poke holes in her pool.

Can't think of any more =S

  5. well my advise would be keep pressuring the county if you send one letter they will over look it if you butg them about it theyll listen but one letter they will ignore

try again to reason with her get her actoionswritten down how many times youve asked responces each time and enclose it with your letter keep doing this and sending it in if the drain flows into your yard she by law has to keep it hygenic as if your child does tru and drink some of it...

short of that all i can advise is that you let your child be hurt...(if the kids hurt the county will more listen as someones been hurt especially if its a child ) i know its a vile thing to suggest but kids are only learning ..... i hope this helps
