Health Insurance Question, please help me?

I am new in the United States and it is the first time i am going to use my insurance which is provided to me by my scholarship sponsor.

I am trying to locate a doctor who will be covered by my plan. I call the insurance, and they say ask them if we cover them. I call the clinic, they say it's my responsibility to find out if my insurance covers them or not.

I was able to find a list of doctors covered by my plan online through my insurance website. However, when i called those doctors, they said they are not familiar with my plan.

Any tips? Advice? Help please. I'm so confused and i really need to see a doctor urgently, though it's not an emergency.

Whoever you talked to at your insurance company was horrible.  You should be able to call the number on your insurance card and say that you need the name of a doctor in your area.  If you already have the name just say you need to verify that doctor is covered under your plan.

Talk to the scholarship sponsor or someone at the college thay may be able to help you find a doctor.
