I'm thinking of getting a job that pays a little more but they don't offer benefits. I've never paid for it myself, how much can I expect to pay for decent insurance?

  1. You can also check out discount healthcare programs as they offer affordable policies.  You will have to go to a doctor or dentist that is in their plan so that you will get the reduced fee rate.  Compare the rates and coverage to see what is best for you.  Go to www.MedicalAndDentalPlus.net to see if the discount program in that location will work for your needs.  Remember it's a discount program, not insurance.

  2. Maybe You should try to google it first ,however if you like some direct resource ,here might be helpful.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/...

  3. It is based on your general health, the coverage, the deductible, and your age.  If you're 30 and healthy, it should run you around $300 a month for a no-deductible plan.

  4. While you may be able to purchase a policy for $300 per month it will most likely be inferior to your group plan. With tat said you could also get a policy for $100 per month.

If maternity is an coverage is a concern for you be sure to way this factor in. Individual coverage with maternity can be expensive and will have a waiting period sometimes up to 9 months before you can get  pregnant. Group coverage doe snot have a waiting period for maternity.

You may want to find a local broker. I suggest using Yellowpages.com to search for health insurance brokers in your area. A Broker represents multiple carriers and can help you sort through all the different insurance companies and plan options in your state. Don't call your auto and home agent they specialize in property and causality insurance. You need someone that specializes in health insurance. These areas of insurance even require separate licenses.

  5. Your age is good as that is not of age for risks such as heart disease. Take into consideration questions about maternity. It varies between hmos, ppos and different plans and you can choose a higher deductible to save if you don't think you'll go often.
