  1. boys can be nurses and midwives too.

you will do 18 units, each will be marked in the college. You can get pass merit or distinction.

You will also do work experience - the college i teach at first years do three one week blocks of placement. One with children, one with elderly people and one with people with learning disabilities.

In the second year they have a work placement one day a week.

Most of the students go on to nursing courses but some do physiotherapy, social work, teaching or other courses. Some go straight to work. A  few have been offered permanent jobs with the places they have been to on work placement.

It's a good preparation for uni because you have to do a lot of independent study and learn to reference correctly.

  2. im doing that too! in my 6th form you get to go on a work experience placement once a week and learn about different diseases and how to care for people with special needs :)

you could be a nurse, midwife etc...

  3. i did a course in H&S Care at open university, then went onto human biology, health and disease parts 1 and 2, etc.

on my way to being a paramedic.
