  1. It's 15 cents on a dollar in Canada which contributes to the healthcare. When U think about it healthcare is not FREE in Canada as most people assume.  U still need some sort of insurance to cover drugs which can get very expensive.  Insurance is also needed for dental.  U may have to wait months to see a specialist which could cause your condition to get worse whereas in the US if U have insurance & need to see a specialist they can usually see U the next day or so.

See there are pros & cons to EVERYTHING in life.  Hope this was helpful. :---)

  2. Canada's income tax system is more heavily biased against the highest income earners, thus while Canada's income tax rate is higher on average, the bottom fifty percent of the population is roughly taxed the same on income as in the United States

The US already spends 18.5% of its revenue on health care to cover 45% fo the population. While canada spends 16.7% to cover 70% of the population.

Brains bigger than mine will have to figure out how to change our health care system.

If you want to see how other countries handle thier healthcare systems I reccommend "Sick Around The World" It ran on PBS and found it very interesting. You can watch it online here. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/...
