Health effects of fasting?

I started a 1 day fast, and I haven't eaten since 2am. The problem is that I never really "prepared myself" as they say you should, I just kind of stopped eating anything except water. and now I'm wondering if I should stop a mere 6 hours before I'm done. Any thoughts?

  1. 1 day fast, nothing bad will happen. It was known to go for a week at a time.

    The key thing is you need to be in good health to do a good fasting, meaning not overweight and in general good health.

    The benefits is that it can kind of "reset" your system. I know some people do it in order to clean their system of medications that they might be taking.

    Harmful: nothing really, even more so for only one day. Just make sure you drink lots of water and be healthy before doing it.
