Health insurance in CA?

I'm a college student thinking of getting health insurance that is affordable. What health insurance should I get? And what's the cost of the insurance per month? Thank you

I can't give you any rates because rates vary.  However, one of the first places that you should start to look for health insurance is a group policy that is offered by your college.

At a minimum, get a health insurance plan that will cover all hospitalizations and prescriptions.  The level of preventative care depends on how healthy you are.

From what I have seen it is just best to go to an agent in your area that brokers health insurance.  If you are healthy then a lot of places can get it to you for really cheap.

If your parents have insurance and you are under the age of 24 then you can still have it with them while going through school.  

A couple things you might want to do is get a job at somewhere like Wells Fargo or some bank that can hire you on for like 12 hours a week.  You can get extra cash and they will give cheap insurance.  Either that or go to the financial department at your school.

Look at a plan from college, but it's likely that it's expensive and/or a policy that's not that great.  I just sold a college student a policy that was 10 times better at 1/4 the cost of her school's plan.
