Health issues force Waqar Younis to seek treatment in Australia - Cricket News Update
Pakistan cricket team's head coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193, will be travelling to Australia at the end of Zimbabwe’s tour. Health issues have forced the former cricketer to seek treatment in Australia.
The former cricketer, who recently resigned from his post, will rejoin his family in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 and will be going through a rehabilitation phase of five months. Hopefully, he can curb his health problems from evolving into something
serious.
A source close to Younis made the news public and said that it is because of his health issues that the former cricketer decided to call it quits and has no conflicts with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) or Ijaz Butt.
This news has cleared the speculations as to why Younis decided to put forward his resignation, as his departure was being linked with the saga between him, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shahid-Afridi-c2482 and Butt.
“He is facing some liver problem and specialists in his now adopted hometown, Sydney have advised him to start an immediate treatment/rehabilitation program to prevent the health problem from turning into a more serious disease,”
said the source.
He further revealed that, “Waqar only learnt that he will require undergoing the rehabilitation program after coming to Pakistan to prepare the team for the Zimbabwe tour because the results of the tests he underwent before coming
to Pakistan only came out earlier this month after which he informed the PCB about his personal and health problem.”
Younis wanted to leave immediately but was persuaded by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045’s tour.
This is not the last of Younis though, as the cricketer has pledged that once he attains complete fitness, he’ll be available to offer any services that the board requires from him.
According to rumours, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aaqib-Javed-c41431 may replace Younis as the new coach of Pakistan cricket team. There is another possibility that Javed would take the role of interim coach until Younis recovers and returns to reclaim his position.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s tour of the African nation will commence on Sunday, August 28, with a two-day tour match against Zimbabwe XI. The series concludes on September 18 after which the team will return home along with their coach.
