Health neurologist need some help on this, face pain?

i have had face pain for years i am wondering what a neurologist will do for me , i have had my face checked for teeth pain

  1. You should really have a working diagnosis by now. Having excluded dental pain, the most likely problem is neuralgia, most commonly trigeminal neuralgia. Your GP should be able to both diagnose and manage this, but if he can't a neurologist is the chap to see.

    The most common management is still carbamazepine, ( Tegretol. ) Though I agree gabapentum is also an option.


  2. A neurologist  will do various tests to find out what is causing the pain. These can be blood tests or scans. Nothing to worry about.  

  3. i have a similar problem but find that gabapantin works for me
