Health question wisdom tooth

so my wisdom tooth is comming in and i have made an apt with my dentist but they have no openings until sept 2nd. They said if i had any swelling to come right to there office or to a hospital but untill then i should be fine. But today i feel terrible almost ill. there is no swelling, and my tooth doesn't even hurt. but my co workers keep saying that im sick because it is in my blood like i have an infection from my tooth. how do i tell if i have a nasty virus or a serious problem. what is a warning sign that is need to go to the hospital. i just feel terrible and really sick.
