Well I know skinless chicken and turkey b*****s are the best of all, but I want to really narrow it down... Which one? And HOW so?

OR...would I be better off eating fish instead? Which are the leanest cuts? Mahi mahi/cod...? help please. Ive heard chicken is dirty and full of steroids and c**p. I want to eat meat again because of the proteins and no carbs! I just think a balanced diet is best. But I want to choose the healthiest meat.

Sorry if that went on forever but you get the idea please give me a logical answer thank you.

  1. Turkey tends to make me sleepy after I eat it because of a natural ingredient in the meat.  So choosing between the two, I'd choose chicken.  You can easily find chicken these days without the hormones and antibiotics.  When buying fish be careful it is from a good, clean source, so it doesn't contain harmful mercury from polluted areas.  Fish has lots of omega3's which is very good for you.

  2. Turkey has all the same hormones and c**p as chicken.  Go with the fish.

  3. chicken is bcuz turkey has a lot of sodium

  4. Turkey (chicken is fine too, though). Also, whitefish and pork loin.

  5. Chicken and Turkey are not necessarily that low in fat.  You need to get white meat, in packages that are marked as Extra Lean.   Extra Lean pork tenderloin is also very good for you;  as is 96/4 ground sirloin (even marked as "heart healthy").  ...  The firmer fish like swordfish, halibut, shark & mahi-mahi are the least fatty; although salmon is the healthiest, because the fat will actually help to LOWER your cholesterol.  Shellfish is NOT good for you .... Grilling any of the above is the healthiest way to prepare them too (use butter or olive oil Pam, or olive oil)....

  6. Turkey is healthier than chicken. but not by much. either one is a better choice than any other type of meat except maybe fish.

  7. depends how u cook em

  8. Turkey is better than chicken - the reason being that chicken is so intensively farmed (42 days from chick to slaughter and on your plate - shocking!!) and pumped full of growth hormones it's absolutely packed full of fat.

Also - not a lot of people know this and it shocked me too.  People would opt for chicken over pork, assuming pork is fatty, however, pork is actually *leaner* than chicken, providing you don't wat roast crackling!!

So, go for pork, turkey, not cod (over-farmed), and if you can afford it - wild Salmon - as farmed fish is just as bad as mass-produced chicken in terms of nutritional value.

  9. turkey has less fat
