Question:

Healthiest fast food place?

Im on a diet (work out and eat right, lost 10 pounds already) and just wondering whats the best option for eating out? I just want to know since i want this to be a lifestyle change, not temporary. giving up made me 40 pounds overweight

I know Macdonald's, BK, Wendy's, KFC are all out of the question, the only thing that im considering is Subway, but their sodium on their subs are insane (over 1000 grams for the 6 inch sub, without any mustard, mayo, etc). even their under 6 grams of fat sandwiches are about 800+ in sodium for the 6 inch.

also chinese foods are out too, I worked in many chinese restaurants and its all msg, and lots of sodium. even the ones that say "no msg" on their menu, they use chicken base for it (a bit less tasty, cost more for the owner, and a tad bit better than msg health wise, but still very high in sodium)

so what would be a good option? if there isnt any better, i might stick with Subway, or quissnos.

  1. el pollo loco--they have this great menu for ppl w/ different diets. but my true fav is baja fresh! they are so good if you have one near you! just stay away from the "fried" options and maybe hold off on the cheese! they have great fresh salsa and hot sauces that can add to flavour without having higher calorie alternatives like sour cream, cheese, gucamole! and their stuff is just soooo fresh!

    both these choices are way tastier than subway...or at least gives you options!


  2. I think subway. They don't fry anything like mcdonalds does.  Plus, their food is pretty tasty. Oh, and would like you like a free toy? Just kidding. I'd suggest subway.

  3. chick-fil-a is a good option...they sell fresh wraps that are delicious! their lemonade is made daily--it seems healthy to me =]

  4. Only place I know for sure will help you is Subway. Get the sub club with NO cheese and mustard only with everything else. But no mayo. Only on wheat. Worked for me.

  5. Subway is good, but maybe you could get a grilled chicken sandwich somewhere without the mayo and that should be healthy as well.  Instead of fries, if they offer soup, you could a cup of soup (brothy kind, not cream).  Congrats on your weight loss....now if I could only get started on mine!

  6. Subway is the best! I love their sandwiches and crave for it every now and then. My favourites are ham and cheese, and terriyaki chicken. My favourite toppings are the jalepano peppers and olives!

    However if you are on diet, try their Veggie Delight!

  7. chic-fil-a has a lot of healthier options like fruit, wraps, and DELICIOUS caesar salads.

  8. i believe that its just a matter if what you get.  the salads at any of these restaurants is a fine choice.  most of them also have fruit cups.  grilled chicken sandwiches, minus the bun and lettuce are also not terrible for you.  i think its unreasonable to completely cut out fast food restaurants that youve been dining at for 20 or 30 or 40 years.  it seems like an unattainable goal.

  11. Most people are wrong. A man lost 86 pounds eatting McDonalds everyday...just has to do with HOW much you eat.

    Qussinos can be almost as bad as mcdonalds

    It comes down to YOUR diet...don't worry about too much sodium...worry about the overall problem.

    Run more...eat less food but more often.

  13. Never truly encountered a healthy fast food place, but subway is awesome, but what kills it is the sodium, if your watching your salt this would not be a good place.

  18. Go to subway.com They really are a good place to help you loose weight.They have great salads.If you go to McDonald's they have salads also that are good.

  19. Well subway is the best. u cud always tell them to add less sodium.

    But if it's all too bad, u can always go to walmart (or any grocerry shop) and get urself some salad or one of those bowls of fruits.
