Healthy 15 year old gets daily nosebleeds and coughs blood?

I'm a healthy 15 year old, and recently I've been getting nosebleeds EVERY DAY. I'm not sure how thick blood is supposed to be, but when I get nosebleeds, the blood is very thin and watery and often gets on clothing before I can even get a tissue to it. Also, if I open my mouth, I'll see that the blood has gone there too. Is this normal? My parents are setting up an appointment at a pediatrician, but do you have any suggestions to what this might be?

  1. Seeing the doctor will help alott he'll morethann likely check you foranemiaa and willalson check you to see if when you sneeze or cough to hard is itbreakingg any of you blood vessels. Also it can be do to the weather and the humidity, do you sleep with a fan on you gotta take all this into consideration and an let your doc no everythingandl try to keep your nose moist on the inside with spray's ask apharmacistt about good sprays for dry nose good luck

  2. The doctor should be able to clear it right up.

I think it is nothing serious and may be one of these things:

    Nasal irritation

Trauma (have you hit something lately?)

Aspirin use (some don't handle aspirin well)

    Nasal polyps

    Sinus problems

But don't worry, all of these are definitely treatable!

Good luck and I hope this helps!

  3. I used to have nosebleeds as well... but not as frequent as you... The blood does enter my mouth as well... your nose is connected to your mouth...

hmmm... it could be a posterior noseblood? I'm just saying... since u said it ends up in your mouth... a broken blood vessel in your nose? there are many possibilities... antihistamines will dry your nose... most of the time it's due to the cold and dry air...

don't worry too much... try not to tilt your head back when you have nosebleed... hope everything goes well ~

  4. Your blood might be too thin if you get too much vitamin K in your diet.

  5. you're not in good health and your parents are doing the right thing.  a pediatrician is just what is needed to find out what's wrong.  no diagnosis in this forum will help you...only a medical checkup can.

  6. Do you take an abnormal amount of aspirin or any other medication that can thin the blood?  Have you been drinking alcohol?

You should be concerned, frequent nosebleeds can be a sign of a heart condition or an infection.  Allergies can also cause them.

Of course, habitual nose-pickers can also have bleeding problems.

  7. you definitely need to see a doctor. soon. having nosebleeds that often cannot be a good thing
