I need some ideas for healthy lunches.

  1. Is this for your kids?

    Or you?

    Well for elementary to highschool...

    you can always put straberrys and then put cream cheese in a ziploc container.

    Or they have these caramel/peanut butter in these little containers now, so put that with some apples or bananas and they can dip them in...

    Or you can get bread cutters that after you make your sandwhiches... so its fun

  3. My kids like rolled up turkey from the deli with cheese and crackers, fruit and some yogurt. Another idea is to put some homemade soup in a thermos. Make sure its the Thermos brand thermos though. We tried so many others before and they never kept the food even warm. Place some boiling water into the thermos for about 5 min. before adding the food and it will stay hot all morning.

  4. fresh fruit (most doesn't even need to be cut up)

    vegetables (carrot sticks, celery sticks, cut up cucumber, or even a salad in a tupperware)

    granola bar

    pretzels instead of chips

    and make a sandwich on a whole wheat/whole grain bread or roll

  5. sandwich with wheat bread

    chips low fat

    fruit like banana or strawberries

    and any drink that you like

    and on Fridays pack something special   like a brownie

  6. fruit salad, tortilla wraps with veg and cheese,

    fresh veg like carrots, asparagus, tomatoes..anything you can crunch

    brown rice with veg and prawns

    yogurt

    lean meats, lettuce, tomato

    hummus, sprouts, cukes, tomatoes

    PB&J'

    pimiento cheese spread

    chicken, egg, or tuna salads

    Fill a thermos with:

    soups or stews

    casseroles from supper the night before

    Make a chef salad w/ ham, turkey, cheese, tomatoes, cukes, onions, boiled eggs; caesar salad w/ chicken


  8. You can never go wrong with fresh fruit

    all natural peanut butter (w/o hydrogenated oil) on 100% whole wheat bread

    water

    some lettuce

    wheat thins

    oh and don't forget about pita bread, my fave.

  9. bring a lunch

    Peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole-wheat bread, 1 cup milk, 15 pretzels

    English muffin pizza, 15 grapes, granola bar, 1 cup milk

    Ham and cheese pinwheels (use 10-inch tortilla, fill with ham and cheese, roll, use toothpicks to pin edges and slice into 1-inch pinwheels), 1 apple with peanut butter for dipping, 1 cup milk

    Turkey and cheese sandwich on whole-wheat bread, celery slices topped with peanut butter and raisins, 6 ounces yogurt, 15 pretzels
