Healthy tasty meals?

Im trying to change my lifestyle and want some recipes for tasty healthy food. i already have a lot of chicken recipes and stirfry and sald and soups...do you know of anymore?

  1. Try to incorporate the Mediterranean way of eating,with more vegetables,legumes,fish and less red meat.It is thousands of years old and it never goes out,because it is very healthy and seasonal.

    What are the benefits of seasonal food?

    Seasonal= most flavor and nutritional value+affordable.

    Also try to avoid butter and margarine,instead use olive oil and your food will be delicious.


  2. Good for you - I think I need to follow your example.

    Fish is good for you and can be quick and easy to prepare. What about Salmon - easy to steam in a microwave with a little lemon

    or a white fish, set on a bed of peppers, carrot, courgette, tomato and baked in the oven

    Or Prawns - my favourite and particularly nice in a stirfry. I try to vary the veggies I use and sometimes include bamboo shoots, brocolli, waterchestnuts, mangetout, baby corn, cougette, chard, cabbage, spinach.

    I also play around with adding different types of noodles (spagetti, egg noodles, rice noodles) and rice

    You can have it with tuna, beef, ham, and other meats...

    Choose a healthy sauce, like tomato sauce because it is low fat, and choose 100% durum wheat because it is the healthiest and tastes really nice to be honest...

  6. There is an interesting recipe book that is based on the principles of the x diet (possible called the x diet cookbook). This gives you recipes that all the fat is replaced by healthier options e.g. the margarine/butter in a cake is replaced by apple sauce etc. it is definitely worth a look at.

    Best options to go for is some nice fresh fish that is grilled and some fresh veggies or salad. Try your hand at mixing flavours etc together when cooking it will be fun to discover new things and therefore eating heatlhier wont be boring. pasta with a tomato based sauce (no cream etc) is a good healthy option.
