Healthy vegetarian meal plans

Hi, I'm a vegetarian. I want to lose a little bit of weight and definitely tone my body, but most importantly I want to be healthy and have a healthy diet. Can anyone give me some vegetarian meal plans and suggestions to help me meet these goals, or refer me to some FREE websites that put together sample meal plans? Ideally, I would like to add some variety to my diet. Thank you very much.

  1. I eat a lot of beans. I like putting a can of tomato paste and 1.5 c. water with pinto beans and seasoning it with Goya seasoning, onions(or onion powder), garlic, and a few other seasonings I find interesting. Just experiment with all kinds of beans.

    Figure out where your calories are coming from.  Sometimes it is best to eat like you normally do and simply write everything down for a week.  Websites like FitDay.com and  http://www.foodsdatabase.com/

    help you track what you eat, the calories, fat, sodium, and nutrients.  

    Once you have a baseline it will be easier to make changes.

    If you drink beer try mixing half your glass of beer with half a glass of Perrier (zero calorie sparkling water).

    Cut back on your dairy -- esp. cheese.

    Drink more water  (some people eat when they are dehydrated, b/c they falsely think they are hungry)

  4. There is a website from the discovery channel that has vegetarian meal plans for weight loss and maintenance.  

    I have never followed the meal plan to a T, but I like the recipes and being able to keep track of what I have eaten and the exercise I have done.
