Healthy weight for a rat?

anyone know what a healthy weight for a male rat is? i want to weigh one of my male rats, but im not sure if hes heavy enough to give a reading on the scales

  1. About 400g to 750 g for a fully grown male rat.

    Try using kitchen scales :-)


  2. you should be able to tell if he is healthy by looking at his body,... is he fat, skinny ect,... idk the weight,...ive never thought of it! lol

    You'll need a produce scale or something that measures in grams.  Another option is to see if your local vet would mind quick weighing your rat for free.  A normal scale you'd find in a bathroom doesn't have the correct granularity to be helpful.
