when I hit small bumps, sounds like shock towers loose, but someone said it was common problem with steering column. sounds like a possible safety problem. I drive it little, only 23.8 on it now, listed for $40k! paid $31k,books at $20k, trade-in $11K. SUCKS!

  1. Burn it or let your buddy steal it for the insurance. Just kidding, You didn't hear that from me.

Could that sound that you're hearing possible be coming from the CV joints while making a tight turn (as in a U turn ).  I once had that same noise with a car that I owned.

  2. Yes, it's very common.

The noise that you're hearing is coming from the intermediate steering shaft, there is an UPDATED shaft available through the dealer.

If you're still under warranty, GREAT......

If out of warranty, about $200.00 part & labor

And NO it's not a safety issue...

Being that your vehicle is a 2005 and has low miles,  I would call GM customer assistance and complain nicely, they might  authorize repair under warranty (happens alot)

  3. its the bushing in the column. take it back to the dealer have them fix it.. no big deal
