Heard about the new 9-ball movie coming out?

Like a hollywood type movie?  That would be pretty cool.  After watching Stick Men and Pool Hall Junkies I about threw up. The only thing that made PHJ cool was Christopher Walken was in it. I don't think either of the writers of those movies knew anything about pool.  Anyone else see these ridiculously horrendous attempts at pool movies?  The tournament format for Stick men was hilarious.  $500 entry fee, race to 1 game, and if you ran the table the opponent had to drop his pants for some reason.  Funny Funny, I guess.

The thing I hated about PHJ's was that it was very cheesy.  It was funny that the pro in the movie carried his walmart graphite cue in the guitar case (the case was cool) and the dumbest part was at the end when he says he bought the guys shot and did some crazy kick shot or whatever and misses, then tells him that its still his shot because he bought it and then shoots, when if that was the case why not just tap the cue ball into position and win that way.  I don't know, I just didn't care for it.

If you haven't seen it check out Shooting Gallery, with Ving Rhames and Freddie Prinze Jr. It's not that great but it is a pool movie.  It went straight to dvd so a lot of people have never heard of it.

It's been in production for a couple of years already so I wouldn't hold my breath. Hopefully they will complete it and release it soon. I'm always in favor of anything that might bright more notoriety to the game of pool.

Did any of you know that phj was written and directed by mars callahan(main character), who grew up in a poolhall?  And i thought the story was great.  Just because they didn't spend 80 million bucks on the movie doesn't mean its trash.  But i definitely agree stickmen was the dumbest pool movie ever made.
