Heard something from my hubby this morning, about a couple in the Algarve who were arrested..?

Question

for leaving their children alone & returning home drunk...is this true?

& if it is true, why haven't the McCanns been done also

The difference is that the McCanns at least tucked their children up in their own beds and checked to see if they were alright every 30 minutes. This other couple dragged their kids with them, got blind drunk so they could not even stand up, let alone see the kids.The were lucky as there was no abductor about, the  McCanns were not so lucky They got all their children back next morning when they both had sobered up. The McCanns have lost a child now for over a year and maybe for ever. Does having 4 children make you something special.? I don't think so

it saddens me. why do you and others insist on dragging the mccanns into every sordid event that happens. they have paid the price for their mistake.  have you no compassion? think about their torment . or is that to hard for you

British people do this on a regurlar basis, that i can assure

as for the McCanns, they have publicly said it was an error to leave the children. i really dont see that any more has to be said on the subject, with resepect. Madeleine and thousands of children are missing ..

it would be so good to see people concentrate positive efforts into helping these children

as opposed to people climbing on their soapbox's all the time .. who undoubdetly live lives that arent 100% perfect themselves !!!

Then maybe your time would be better spent with or nurturing your children as opposed to on here !

they were both found to be so drunk that they were out of it,so to speak.the children were taken away as a precautionary measure.

These are two different & unrelated cases with different circumstances. You cannot compare the two.

Actually... they took the kids with them. I dunno the price of cider. But I know that there's no local cider, so... it was either strongbow's or boomer's, the only two you can find here. They were, therefore, used to it.

They weren't arrested at any moment. they were taken to the Hospital. They pulled a "Houdini" and walked out of the hospital... but they went straight to the National Guard station, which was a good move... They got their kids immediatly back. The kids are sweet... I actually believe them not to be bad parents...strange, but I do. They knew the kids were safe in state custody but, as soon as they could manage, they went to the Guards to "face the music" and get the kids back. Not bad. Not bad at all. THIS, I believe to have been a "MISTAKE".

Apparently the kids were taken into a care facility but given back to their parents at noon the next day. No charges are going to be brought.

i read that the couple collapsed in their apartment drunk, the children were not left alone, the couple were taken to hospital and the portugese social services looked after the children. neighbours of the couple say that they are good parents and that this is totally out of character behaviour from them.  in my opinion its probably been too much cheap booze, probably stronger than what they normaly drink, im not excusing them but everyone needs to know that it can happen to anyone.

I didn't think they were left on their own.

Although they might have been better off on their own....both parents collapsed from too much alcohol...the kids were only6, 2 and 1!!!!!

It amazes me that people like this are allowed to conceive?!?!

you have to know the whole story before you compare with the McCanns/ as i read it because cider was been sold at 1 euro a pint this couple filled their tanks up to overflow so consequently the kids were to all effect left alone// they both deserve a spell inside to wake their brains up and when they get back to UK a visit from welfare

They did not leave their children, they had them with them. They were so drunk that they were deemed incapable of looking after the children, so the authorities removed the kids to a place of safety and arrested the parents.

Completely different scenario to the McCanns.

Yes, they were put in temporary custody, and returned the following morning, unlike Madeline.

Leave the McCanns alone & go hunt for ghosts. They have publicly said how much they regret leaving the children alone & have been punished enough.They didn't return drunk.
