Is this true? Because I was planning on getting a 65' Rear-projection tv but why doesn't upconverting work and what will I do in that case?

  1. Ive got a 56" Samsung projection DLP. I bought the samsung upconvert and didnt like it, so I bought the panasonic and I love it. They do work.

  2. the tv really doesn't do much in the up conversion process.  What makes the difference is the component that is doing the up conversion.

  3. yeah Brian is right.  It all depends on the player and how well it upconverts.  Some are better than others but they arent going to really get near a true high def dvd format like blueray.  It will definitely improve upon a regular dvd player and should look just fine on that TV.
