Hearing screaming in my head as a kid?

I'm 17 now, and I just remembered how I used to hear this screaming voice in my head, and it wouldn't go away. Is this common, or is there an explanation? I still hear the voice sometimes, sub consciously.

I dunnno. You might wanna have that checked out before it gets worse possibly.

They say children are more susceptible to the paranormal and that is why now it is your subconcious.You block those things out as you get older.
