Hearing still isn't back yet?

4 days ago, my ear started hurting. i could hear fluid popping, bubbling and sloshing in it. then i started getting dizzy. it hurt horribly for the last 4 days but finally i heard a big pop and then this clear sticky fluid started draining out of it. the pressure went away within one night.

except now i can't hear out of the ear well at all. it sounds all muffled, like sounds can't get through.. almost like static. before everything sounded like it was underwater.

shouldn't my hearing have returned when the infection cleared up? the pain and pressure have been gone for over 24 hours but i am still having trouble hearing stuff. and i don't hear anymore liquid in there.

  1. Sounds like your ear drum popped.  Mine did that, and it was the exact same thing you have described.  The pain and pressure is gone because there what was being pressured has popped. You should really make an appointment with your doctor to have it checked out.

  2. it sounds like your ear drum popped or your cochlear ( i never spell that right) drained.... you need to go to the doctor now.... even the ER. You could be come permanently deaf if you don't take care of this.

you can still feel fine but with the dizziness its changes your balance... most deaf children cant stand on one foot and if they spin around in circles the wont get sick. Try standing on one foot. Any draining from the ear needs to be looked at.

  3. You're best going to the doctor as soon as possible. I had all kinds of ear infections when I was a kid. The pain and clogging were horrible but I never lost my hearing.
