Question:

Heart palpitations and hard of breathing; any suggestions?

I recently went camping with my friend for three days and my shoes got wet the first day so i went most of the time barefoot. I just started getting heart palpitations while resting and every time I get them, it's hard for me to breath. They aren't long though, just one or two beats irregularly. Worse case scenario: I've contracted a parasite. Is it something a doctor should hear about or am I just being paranoid over something that's normal?

  1. I think your symptoms are unlikely related to going barefoot, however your doctor will need to take a better history and examine you. This could be related to your heart beating irregularly- an electrical problem with the heart or this could be related to anxiety i.e. panic attacks.

  2. You could have a heart irregularity. It might or might not need treatment. But do see a doctor and get a physical.

  3. thats odd,but i dont believe the barefooting had anything with it,could have been the air or something you ate
