Hearts manager not worried about poor home results
Heart of Midlothian manager Jim Jefferies is not panicking about the Scottish Premier League club’s poor results at home.
The Edinburgh side has yet to win at Tynecastle in any of their four matches at home this season. They have claimed just two points from the 12 available in the games.
Motherwell and defending champions Rangers have both visited Tynecastle and left with all three points, while St Johnstone and Dundee United both claimed draws. That poor form on Hearts’ own patch has been tempered by the fact that they have won three out
of their four matches at other teams’ stadiums.
Jefferies is refusing to worry about his side’s home results as he readies his side for the visit of St Mirren on Saturday, 23 October.
"Much has been made of the home form. It has been fine, it's the results that need to improve. We still have two or three players out, which hasn't helped our cause at home. It has been difficult trying to cover for Marius Zaliukas and Lee Wallace. It has
left us a bit vulnerable. The fans have been fine, though, as it was only really the Motherwell game we didn't play well in."
"That may well have been a reaction to the superb effort put in against Falkirk and the comebacks there the week before. You can look at wee things, but the bottom line is we need to turn it into results. But if we can be a bit more clinical in the final
third, it'll come."
If Hearts fail to win against St Mirren (who have not won on their travels and are at the foot of the SPL table), their next chance to pick up a victory at home will come on 31 October, when they welcome Kilmarnock.
