Question:

Heat Pump Installers NOT Responsize - "Moisture Problem"?

What to do next? I have tried to get installers to fix my HVAC moisture problems and it is 1.5 years since install and they say it is not under installation warranty any further after 1 year, even though the problem was never resolved since installation and numerous service visits. Will the manufatcurer (Armstrong) get involved or should I call the distributor the unit came from? I'm thinking to solve the problem the unit will have to be re-ibnstalled and most of the duct work and returns resized and changed to support larger flow volume and produce lower static pressure in attic air handler?? Any advice here?

  1. Sue them.

  2. You will need to call Armstrong and find out who they use to do warranty work for them, if the problem never went away then the unit might be too big for the home. Air flow does have a lot to do with it. You do not state where the air handler is located at, if it is outside of the air conditioned space it could be bring warm moist air into the home Thur holes in the air handler like the high volt electrical whip.

  3. Since this is a split system, it was installed by a contractor. The manufacturer will only say the problem is with the installation, since the unit was properly tested at the factory. The contractor accepted responsibility by installing this equipment. You had a year to resolve the problem. Since you are out of warranty, my guess is you will not collect any thing. Sorry.
