Heat comb or flat iron?

i know what a flat iron is, but what exactly is a heat comb? how do they work, and which one is better to use? thanks! =D

  1. Flat Iron. Do you mean a hot comb?  Those aren't that good for your hair. Use a heat protector (Tresseme has a good one) before flat ironing.


  2. a heat comb is exactly what it sounds like...a heated comb. it's of course a little heavier than a regular comb. there are some that you actually heat on a stove, but the majority come with plugs that you place into a socket. You part your hair and everything like you would to flat-iron..only you comb it. i honestly, don't know anybody who uses hot combs anymore. besides, you're more likely to get burned because there's nothing protecting you from the heat..

  3. it's actually called a hot comb....it's like this metal comb that you use to straighten your hair, you can usually get closer to the roots with it. To use it you just have to put it on heat...say your stove or they have these little ovens that you buy from the beauty supply to warm them up.

    But ultimately the flat iron is better at giving you a silky texture and straightening your hair.
