Heat Pump outside is spinning nicely. Cold air is not getting pumped into my home after leaving it on all day and I have temperature set on 69 degrees and it's hot in here. I don't feel any air coming out of the air ducts. Can anyone tell me what the problem could be? I'm trying to fix it myself. Warm Regards, Thank You

  1. Well I would think you have a problem with the furnace fan not working , or the evaporator unit is icing up and blocking the air flow. make sure all your vents are open and the air filter is clean. try putting it into heat mode and see if the fan works.

  2. Is your unit frozen?. Open the panel from where you hear the blower, look inside onto the coil and look to see if is all white of ice. If that's the case disconnect the power, wait about three hours and then turn it back on if all the ice is melted. When you leave the ac unit on all day long without any rest, after 16 hours of use, the unit will automatically freeze. That's why you need to give it a rest. Make sure that your setpoint temperature when you are away is only a few degrees lower from the maximum outside temperature, example 85 degrees when you are away.  When you come back home then you can set it lower to the desired temperature.

You wanna check to see if your motor to the blower is working too. If is belt driven motor, then check to see if the belt still good, it may be a broken belt. Check to see if your coil is restricted. Clean it up if it is. That should do the pain.

  3. Is the blower inside working? if not that is the problem.

If it is, turn it off, remove the filter and replace or clean. Let the system thaw a couple hours as it is probably iced up which will block the flow of air. Turn the switch on the stat to COOL to help thaw it.

After thawing, turn the switch to AUTO and the system to COOL.

If it ices up again you have dirty coils or you are low on refrigerant.
