Heater don't work in my 1980 Toyota tercel?

my little car runs great and the heater worked awesome when my boss owned it. i bought it from him and had to replace the water pump, and thermostat. but not the heater wont get hot if i drive my 45 min drive the engine will be warmed up and i will get a little small amount of heat as long as i don't have the fan on. can anyone help with this problem? the cold weather is on its way and i would like to solve this problem before its to late.

  1. i think your mechanic forgot to install the thermostat back or your thermostat is faculty  


  2. This could be an air lock in the heater or even a faulty thermostat even though it is a new one. Good luck. h  

  3. try putting a warmer thermostat in it,180 degree should fix it


  4. There could be to much cold air coming into the engine or the tubes taking the hot air into the car could be cracked or have split or something, get the car in a garage and turn the car on and see if the hot air is coming out to make sure its not to much wind coming in or have you put to much oil in so its not letting the engine get hot at all.
