Don't you think that is too soon for Brock Lesnar to fight agaisnt a guy with the experience and status of Heath Herring, i don't know, he only have 2 fights in MMA, maybe Eddie Sanchez or Soa Palelei could be good opponents to gain more experience, but well, i put my vote on Herring.

  1. Heath is a late replacement for Mark Coleman, who injured his MCL during training. Anyway, Brock asked for it in the first place, but not because he's confident that he's gonna win. It's to distinguish himself as a legit fighter trying to learn the sport the hard way, rather than be fed cans and be labeled as a beast and then be exposed when matched up with a significantly better opponent. That I really appreciate about Brock, and he's very humble about it. It showed after he lost to Mir, and he made no qualms about him still having a long way to go before becoming a legit contender. The willingness to learn and be humble about it is what I like about Brock Lesnar the MMA fighter.

If all goes well with Brock's camp, he'll pull this one off.

  2. After Herring vs. O'Brien, I choose Brock Lesnar.  He has great takedowns and, from the little I saw in the Mir fight, decent or at least mediocre standup.

    Lesnar by decision.

When he gets tired he just does some lay and pray for a bit.  Herring's takedown defense doesn't impress me at all.

  3. 'undertow', really?  lesner by decision?  that oaf wouldn't make it to decision.  he'd tire out before the end of the second round.  true, he has power..he's shown us that.  i thought frank was in trouble last time at first...but he's not ready to 'fight' the fight.  i'm not saying he doesn't have it in him to win, but i think it'd be solely due to knockout power.  as far as skill is concerned, i give it to herring.

and let's just say that i hope lesner gets humiliated...

  4. I agree with undertow, Herring vs. O'Brien was a disaster.

Heath knows he will be taken down therefore he will work on submissions from his back, scrambles, and getting on top. Heath also has the experience factor. He has fought top notch fighters like Big Nog, Mirko Cro Cop, and Fedor. He may have lost to all of them, but those men are also legendary. The experience is huge for Heath.

Brock learned from his mistake against Frank Mir. I am almost 99.9% sure that Brock will be more cautious when in Heath's guard. We also haven't seen his conditioning. None of his fights have gone past the first round. His ground and pound style is the most tiring of all martial arts styles. He needs to be well conditioned for this fight if he wants to fight the way he fought against Mir.

If Brock Lesnar can stay away from getting caught in a submission and still bring forth his ruthless ground and pound, then I have to give this one to him.

  5. Heath Herring has no chance against someone with the strength to F5 the Big Show...he picked that 500+ pound man up like a rag doll...

  6. Lesnar wins. Too explosive and arguably the best wrestler in mma. He proved he has the skill In his first fight. Just needs to put it all together.  And to the people who claim Brock will Tire... Even though WWE Is fake, Have you seen how tiring those matches are? And he would fight in 30-to hour long matches 2 times a week. He wont even be winded.

  7. on paper brock lesner shoudlk win this fight bigger stronger great wrestler showed he has some power when he fought mer but dont count out herring he ahs fought some of the best and has some wins over some very tough fighters plus he is said to be in the best shape of his life for this fight

I think brock wins but it will be a good fight

  8. Herring

  9. every fight of herring's i've seen he hesitates too much. and as fast as lesner jumped on mir, i don't see herring pulling off a win.

  10. I was really surprised when the UFC made this fight. They were in a tough spot though, they needed someone with name recognition and after the poor mans Brock Lesnar (Mark Coleman) got hurt there only options were to scrap the fight or use Herring. No disrespect to Heath Herring, but I actually think Lesnar will win this one. Herring has much more experience with top notch guys, but I think Lesnar's size and wrestling ability will allow him to take this one via some vicious ground and pound. Lesnar has to get it to the ground early though, or I think Herring will pick him apart with kicks. Lesnar also has to be really careful on top because who knows how he'll react on his back. We have some little Lesnar to critique, but he is a top notch wrestler and I think thats the deciding factor in this one. He nearly beat Frank Mir with nothing but right hands, it'll be nice to see what some more MMA training can do for him.

    To Timmy,

Yes, Herring has faced all the top heavyweights in the world... and lost. Losses dont mean much IMO. Yeah, he's been in the ring with tough guys, but that's about where it ends. He's been absolutely controlled on the ground in his numerous bouts and I think that's something Brock can exploit. I'm sure Brock has worked a lot on his submission defense, so he shouldnt be worried about Herrings mediocre BJJ game. I think Brock can take the fight down and use his size and superior wrestling to control Herring on the ground and exploit his weakness on the ground.

To all those thinking Herring will be able to submit Lesnar, how? You're not going to get him in an arm bar, his arms are too large and he is far to powerful. I think Lesnar would be able to power out of most submissions. Frank Mir said it himself, they only way to submit a guy that large and powerful is to go for the neck or the legs. I don't see Herring catch Lesnar in a knee bar so unless he gets a guillotine or gets Lesnar on his back and Lesnar doesnt know how to handle it and gives up the back, Herring is not going to submit him.

  11. Brock

  12. Anyone who says Brock needs to go back to there WWE shows.  Heath has fough every top heavyweight in the world (literally all of them except Randy) He has better... hands, knees, kicks, Jui Jitsu, Experience, ring awarness, and MMA knowledge.  Brock is a better wrestler and thats where it ends.  Heath will walk all over Brock.  We saw what he could do against a much stronger opp. in cheik kongo, so brocks strength wont be a factor
