Heath Pearce: temperature did not play a part in CD http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chivas-USA-c38798’s 1-0 loss to FC Dallas – MLS News
CD Chivas USA visited Pizza Hut Park for a Major League Soccer week-20 game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Dallas-c39095 on the warmest day of the season. The Rojiblancos and Toros entered the field with temperature soaring up to 102 degree Fahrenheit at the site.
The hosts, however, held the upper hand, took advantage of the chances provided to them and managed a 1-0 win at home.
The Goats, on the other hand, denied that the heat had anything to do with the loss. Looking at FCD’s condition during the match, the statement proves true to some extent.
“No one had an advantage in this type of heat, but our turnovers and our lack of sharpness possession-wise and attacking-wise is what compounded into everyone getting tired, the field starting to get big, and us not doing what we needed to get a result,”
the former FCD defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heath-Pearce-c15928 told the media.
The Hoops entered their green pastures after arriving in Dallas less than 24 hours earlier. The team could only manage a small practice session in the morning to avoid the scorching heat.
The Goats started the game well by maintaining ball possession for the first 10 minutes, however, the Toros tightened the screws on the visitors after that.
The hosts scored in the 26th minute when Honduran midfielder, Marvin Chavez, lobbed the ball into the net. The ball deflected off Pearce’s leg and ended in the net for the lone of the game.
The Goats continued to struggle in the match and gifted several chances to the home team, but the Toros could not manage a solid final touch to enhance the lead.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Houston-Dynamo-c39542 at The Home Depot Center, could not find himself in the offensive third. The team squandered every chance they had in the game and the result was a mere 7 shots against Dallas’
17.
“If we were sharp enough with the ball,” head coach Robin Fraser stated after the match, “then we have done more and it may have changed the complexion of the game completely. But it wasn't to be. As a result, we had a tough time building up any kind of
a rhythm.”
With the win, FCD now move to second place in the Western Conference, just three points short of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818, whom they will fight next Saturday at Home Depot Center to take the top spot. Rojiblancos will try to redeem themselves on the same day when
they visit Gillette Stadium to meet http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/New-England-Revolution-c40026.
