They talk about future demand and growth but the heathrow monster is big enough lets stop it now before it takes over the whole of London. Society needs to be educated about immisions not encouraged to increase them. This is all about money again. The vast majority of flights are for pleasure not for essential reasons. I wont loose my house over this expansion but I am under the flight path, no its got to stop.

  1. I am a young woman working alone side the BAA management and if they want to do something they will. They have money knowledge and power....If you can beat that then you can stop their greed.

  2. You are so right. The latest Airbus A800 was supposed to be the answer to stopping airport expansio. Bigger aircraft was supposed to mean an end to the expansion of airports because they can carry twice the passengers. It's all a big lie! they want bigger aircraft, and bigger airports as well. It is very wrong.

  3. The British government is obsessed with expansion.

    More immigrants

    build more houses

    build more prisons

    build more runways

    have more and more kids

This is a tiny island- lets save our green spaces for all who live here now.

Stop the UK becoming a polluted concrete jungle!

  4. Growth has to be fed for the simple reason that life would be unsustainable with out it

    think about it

no growth and what do you get

no imports or exports because of no demand as there is less money floating in a world economy so there is less trading going on and less revenue being made - and without money what can you do? granted its only coloured paper but its more useful intodays society than having land like in years gone by as although people sell land for high prices money is so much more important as cost of living rises all over people need more money to survive

people need growth to sustain life

    example

the guy who grows bananas on his plantation in South America needs growth to have money to put food on the table for him and his family for his survival

people need growth to buy things to attract people to create more wealth to have a greater chance of survival which is what this all interlinks back into

    Growth = Survival

the person who buys the bananas needs them as he has people who want them and the people who buy bananas help the seller grow financially and the buyer growths healthly as they eat the good nutrients and the cycle is formed again as the buyer now needs another banana from the South American who has to as you put it feed the growth because without it there would be no survival

and although ive been banging on about bananas do you see my point in relation to Heathrow and the travel industry

Heathrow is the bananna grower in South America

the Airline is the buyer of the bananna

the traveller is the bananna buyer who puts money into the airline to grow who inturn put money into heathrow to help it grow and the destination country to help it grow which in the case of the bananna buyer is the bannana buyer again

Growth is needed as airlines are a massive source of income as is the travel industry

sit for a moment and you imagine a world without planes

in todays day and age its unthinkable that people didnt have the growth of aircraft as so much is dependant on the element of growth to promote survival for ourselves and future generations by leaving a stable base for people in the future to take hold of and in essence "Keep the World alive" otherwise we will head to destruction and to who knows what as heaven cant fit everyone can It?

Growth is needed for survival and moeny is an element of that its just something you have to except and to be honest I think hydrogen fuel cells should be seriously looked into as that would be a fantastic breakthrough and would please everyone from the eco geeks to the jet setters

whether you like my answer or not its a great question so have a star

  5. Building a bigger airport won't encourage people to fly, it will just make their journey more civilised.  At the end of the day, it's everyone's right to go and have a nice holiday - and we need to concentrate on finding cleaner ways of fuelling the aircraft, rather than trying to stop people from enjoying a decent quality of life...

  6. You can only accommodate this type of growth up to a point but the point is where and when do you stop. All types of growth have to be kept under control for the good of everything, otherwise we`re going to suffocate the countyside. This goverment wants to tax us to the hilt on our cars and their useage but planes are far worse for the environment. Me and the old man never use them as we prefer to holiday in this country in our campervan and most of the trips we do in that are ones that are within about a 50 mile radius because of work commitments.
