Heating LED stuck on

Question

This coffee maker has received moderate use (4 - 5 cups a day 7 days a week for 7 months) and after the last cup brewed successfully, the "Heating" LED came on and stayed on and after several minutes, you can hear the water boiling away. I tried unplugging for several minutes and replugging back in but the problem is the same.
