Heating comes on when hot water tap opened and stays on even when tap closed.?

baxi 80e combi boiler.heating comes on when hot water tap opened and stays on even when tap turned off.The boiler is only 2 years old,even if i turn the selector switch to water only it still does the same on turning on the tap.

the water heater, i take it.. it takes a long time to heat water as compared to using it.  it might take a while before it turns off.. but check the temp you have it set at... this can save $$$. also, use less hot water, take tepid baths.. this will lower the need to heat more water.

More info need here, what type of boiler / heating system do you have?

As what Alan T above said, more info required. Some systems use transducer on the inlet pipe to the heater which detects flow. So when you open the tap, the heater would turn on and stay on when flow is detected though you closed the tap. This could be due to water is flowing out somewhere. Check some other faucets, laundry, kitchen sink etc.
