Heavenstown to smash competition in the 888Sport Novices’ Hurdle at Fontwell
The Class 4 888Sport Novices’ Hurdle will take place at Fontwell, today, on 3rdApril, 2012. On a good surface, the race will cover a distance of 2 miles, 6 furlongs and 110 yards, over which nine runners will compete for £2,014.
Heavenstown, son of Bienamado, out of mare Little Bliss, is the only runner today who has scored on a good surface. The John Flint trained six-year-old gelding rode under jockey, Rhys Flint in the Betfair Brings You Better Value Novices’ Hurdle at
Fontwell on 7th March, 2012.
He did a good effort as he chased the leaders and caught up to them in the last 200 yards, and won the race by a narrow margin of a neck to Ballyfoy.
Owned by Malcolm Page, this performance showed considerable improvement from his seasonal debut, where he finished seventh in a line-up of fifteen runners in the Marketrasenraces.co.uk Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle (Betfair Hurdle Series Qualifier)
at Market Rasen on 22nd January, 2012.
Mike Towey, trained by Peter Bowen for owners, Roddy Owen and Paul Fullagar, is currently on a hat-trick. With two victories already under his belt, he may be able to complete his hat-trick today.
The son of Ashkalani, out of mare, Cosy Lady, raced as a favourite in the Lindley Catering Intermediate Open National Hunt Flat Race at Hereford on 20th April, 2011, as a favourite with odds of 5 to 6.

Saddled by jockey Tom O’Brien, he made steady headway and defeated, Bollistick, by a large margin of 6 lengths.
He raced with the odds of 9 to 4 in the Barry Walters Catering Novices' Hurdle at Ffos Las on 31st May, 2011. This time he was paired with jockey Denis O’Regan and finished 2 ¾ lengths before Stonethrower.
The seven-year-old gelding’s connections are confident about his ability and the fact that he may be able to bag this one.
Medinas, son of Malinas, out of Medicis, will be tough to beat, as Alan King’s trainee succeeded in his seasonal debut.

He entered the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F "National Hunt" Novices' Hurdle (Qualifier) as a favourite with the odds of 10 to 11, and defeated Twirling Magnet by an enormous margin of 10 lengths at Hereford on 5th March,
2012.
It is speculated that, Heavenstown, may win this race, but he may be challenged by Mike Towey for the first place. Medinas may finish closely after them in third.
