Heavy metal sensation Metallica to perform at 2011 Indian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Multi-award winning American heavy metal band Metallica will be performing on the Indian soil for the first time during the inaugural session of the 2011 Indian Grand Prix scheduled to be held on October 28.
The seventh biggest selling act in American history will be performing live in ‘F1 Rocks in India with Vladivar’ at the Leisure Valley in Gurgaon prior to the 2011 Indian Grand Prix – the first ever Grand Prix that will be staged by the Indian subcontinent.
All Formula 1 races start off with F1 Rocks which has become more of a trademark event that features live music performances by various music artists.
Expressing their views on their concert at the Indian Grand Prix, Metallica said, “We are so excited to be playing a show in a place we have never thought in our wildest dreams we’d get to play. It’s an honour for all of us to be a part of that whole music
scene as a metal band sharing our music with fans in India at this incredible concert.”
Looking at the fan following of this all-time favourite heavy metal, it is easy to speculate that this concert is going to be a one of its kind event, something the people of the Indian subcontinent have long been waiting to experience.
The event is expected to be a major crowd puller and approximately 30,000 Metallica fans are expected to attend this concert.
MTV India, which is the official broadcasting partner for F1 Rocks in India, will be airing this spectacular concert in a documentary-style reality show comprising of four 30-minute episodes.
Robert Montague, chief of F1 Rocks, said, “We are very pleased to announce Metallica as our headlining artist at the first ‘F1 Rocks in India with Vladivar' event and are proud to welcome our title sponsor Vladivar and broadcast partner MTV India.”
What Formula 1 fanatics from all across the globe should expect from this much-anticipated Grand Prix is a complete package of high-speed cars, glitz and glamour, loud music and plenty more.
All the sponsors and organisers are really busy at the moment and best efforts are being put forward to make this event a huge success.
The Indian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on October 28, 2011 at the Buddh International Circuit near Delhi.
