I am currently looking to purchase a new 16 lb bowling ball. I have narrowed down my choices from either

Columbia 300 Resurgence

Twisted Fury Solid

Blackwidow venom

Does anyone have an opinion or suggestion on which way I should go? I want HUGE hook :)

  1. Ha, WW my bike weighs 15.7 lbs so the ball is more than mine too.

What would you do with such a heavy ball? Why ask us cyclists?

Warning - don't ride your bike on oiled lanes...

  2. Sounds like a fun challenge but you put your question on the bicycle page.  Instead of spending hours indoors at the bowling alley I am outdoors getting stronger and thinner on my bicycle. Good luck.

  3. Yes.

  4. Any of those bowling balls will hook tons, but only if you get the correct exotic drilling such as the RICO (pin in the palm), which will provide much forward roll, heavy backend and early hooking action in heavy oil.  My arsenal for heavy oil is as follows:

    Brunswick Twisted Fury

    Brunswick Ultimate Inferno

    Morich Awesome Finish

    Elite PBA Shark

    Elite PBA Chameleon

    Columbia 300 Big Shot

    Hammer Black Widow Venom

    Hammer Black Widow Bite

You can make any bowling ball hook on any oil pattern, just as long as you are accurate and have the basics of bowling down.  Also, purchasing bowling balls with aggressive coverstocks then sanding them down will help.  Good luck!

  5. your bowling ball weighs more than my bike!
