my wife has a dodge neon (2001) and she transports two teens who are easily over 300 lbs back and forth from home to church. my wife is normal sized, but I was wondering, is it possible to be too heavy for particular cars/trucks? Her car sits waay low when they are in it, so I was wondering if she/we need to invest in something bigger?

  1. Yes it can ruin a vehicle and if you keep this up then yes you need to invest in something else.

  2. yes, it's hard on your car.  should you have to buy another? no! it's not your fault they're overweight.  Help them start some better habits and begin losing weight instead of buying another car.

  3. One one hand; continuing to carry heavy loads will ruin the car.  Neons were not engineered to carry that much weight all the time.  On the other hand, it is just a Neon.  Parts are cheap, and it's easy to repair.  If it's only once a week, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
